This column will appear in every bimonthly "PLIM REPORT." It will discuss the structure of the three-fold tabernacle pattern, that is "The Philosophical Measuring Rod", and the function of the priests therein. This Philosophical Measuring Rod will be used to examine many subjects, to show the operation of spiritual principles, and to reveal the mysteries of the holy scriptures, various religions, sciences, and philosophies.
To begin any investigation, especially of a spiritual nature, some methodology, criteria, or pattern for judging the results of the investigation should be established. The discerning of Spirit is far beyond the reaches of human reasoning or mental faculties. Neither can the nature and structure of Spirit be detected by the physical senses of man or with instruments. Thus Yahweh-Elohim (the Lord God), the creator, must reveal the pattern to us by which we, His creatures, can understand Him as He really is and actually exists, and not according to customs and traditions.
Does the Pattern Act as a Guide?
In this physical realm, we often use a pattern to perform the simplest things. For example, if one were to go to a foreign country or city for the first time, a wise course of action would be to obtain the most accurate map available. This geographical representation or pattern will enable one to navigate in this country or city without getting lost. Or, if one purchased an item that had to be assembled, one would expect to find the instructions, schematic, or blueprint to put it together correctly. Now the map, schematic, or blueprint is a pattern that directs or guides one accurately. Without it one would be in a constant state of doubt and speculation, always guessing without instructions. Thus it is absolutely necessary to have a pattern to investigate the spiritual realm.
Is Elohim Himself a Pattern?
The reader may be astonished to find out that Elohim (God) Himself is the "Original (Archetypal) Pattern of the Universe." Elohim (God) revealed Himself to Moses in a vision and revelation atop Mt. Sinai, 1490 years before the birth of the Messiah. The seventy elders of Israel, Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, also "...saw the Elohim (God) of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw Elohim (God), and did eat and drink. (Ex. 24: 10-11)"
Elohim (God) then transformed into a three-fold tabernacle pattern (Ex. 25: 8-9, 40; Heb. 8:5) showing Moses that the tabernacle is a definition of Elohims spiritual embodiment. Moses understood that the three-fold tabernacle pattern explained the structure of Yahweh-Elohims spiritual embodiment or ghost like body and its inner operation. Thus the tabernacle is the "Philosophical Measuring Rod" by which all things (visible and invisible) can be measured.
Did The Prophets See Elohim and the Tabernacle Pattern in Visions?
Man can only see Elohims spiritual embodiment or ghost-like body in divine visions and revelations or within the mind's eye (Num. 12:6, See Diagram 1). The disciples, Peter, James and John, saw this embodiment in a vision when the Messiah transfigured before them, and produced the souls of Moses and John the Baptist atop Mt. Tabor (Matt. 17:1-9). While seeing Elohim's spiritual form, Peter made mention of a tabernacle.
Others whom Yahweh chose, such as Ezekiel, saw Elohim (God) in a vision with a reed measuring the temple (Ezk. 40:1-3) or tabernacle. The apostle John also was told in his vision to measure the temple of Elohim (Rev. 11:1). The reed that John and Ezekiel saw in their visions was the tabernacle pattern, not a literal or physical yard stick. Although the "reed" is a unit of measure of about 10 feet, the temple of Elohim (God) is not a physical building, but the souls of men in physical bodies (I Cor. 6:19-20). Measuring the temple is done by one with the Holy Spirit judging mens words and deeds by the tabernacle pattern.
Does The Pattern Explain the Supernal Nature?
This measuring rod or reed shows how Christians use of the titles of Lord, God and the erroneous name and title of Jesus Christ brings about confusion in the believers hearts and minds concerning Spiritual things. These titles and names fail to convey the true characteristics and nature of Our Heavenly Father and his Son.
By examining the structure of the tabernacle and the functions of the priests therein, one can begin to understand the structure and function of Elohims (Gods) spiritual embodiment (Heb. 9:1-10). The tabernacle is composed of three compartments, divided by veils, with a total of nine major vessels therein. The second veil divided the Most Holy Place from the Holy Place. It was blue, purple, scarlet, and lavishly embellished with angels or cherubim. There was a first veil that divided the Holy Place and Court Round About. It had the same colors and embellishments with angels as the second veil. But the angels were only on the inside of the first veil facing the Holy Place.
The three compartments of the tabernacle explain the structure of Spirit or the Godhead. Diagram 3 on the next page shows the correlation between the tabernacle pattern and the Godhead or Supernal Nature which is as follows: 1. Most Holy Place by the Pattern is correlated to Yahweh - the Father. 2. Holy Place by the Pattern is correlated to Elohim - Word or Son. 3. Court Round About by the Pattern is correlated to Yahshua the Messiah - the personification of the Holy Spirit in concrete form. Now these three compartments makeup one tabernacle not three separate ones.
The Apostle John explains the Godhead in 1 John 5:7-8, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."
How Can You Prove the 3 States of Spirit?
Now to prove that the Father Yahweh, Pure Spirit, has three states, we must examine the things that are made in the physical universe. The apostle Paul said: "Because that which may be known of Elohim is manifest in them; for Elohim (God) hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Supernal nature (Godhead); so that they are without excuse: (Rom. 1:19-20)"
Now there are three states and conditions of Spirit, the ultimate source and substance of all things visible and invisible: (1. The Father; 2. The Word or Son; and 3. The Holy Spirit). Matter is created from Spirit or is Spirit materialized into its lowest state. Physical matter must reflect the characteristics of Spirit, the parent source and substance, just as man or any other life form inherits or reflects the characteristics or traits genetically of his parents. Thus matter must be three-fold to reflect the three states of Spirit. The three states of matter are: 1. Gas; 2. Liquid; 3. Solid; and all matter is composed of atoms which are also three-fold: 1. Proton; 2. Neutron; 3. Electron. (See Diagram 4)
By comparing the characteristics of each state of matter with the Godhead, one is able to understand or conceptualize the three states of spirit. For example, the gaseous state of matter is invisible, likened unto Yahweh Pure Spirit, who is also invisible, incomprehensible, and inscrutable, the source and substance of all things visible (Physical realm) and invisible (Angelic Realm). The next state of matter is liquid that is visible, and takes on the form of its container. Liquid can be likened unto Elohim that takes on shape and form of a man in visions and revelations within the confines of man's mind (Exo. 24:9-10; Ezek. 1:26). The lowest state of matter is solid that is concrete and has a definite shape and volume, likened unto Elohim or the Word made flesh (who the world calls Jesus Christ), who can be observed with the physical senses (I Tim. 3:16). These analogies and comparisons of the three states of matter with the three states of spirit prove the nature and operation of Spirit and enables one to have the correct image of it.
From the above comparative analysis, the tabernacle pattern, or the "Philosophical Measuring Rod," proves that there are three manifestations or states and conditions of the One Spirit (Deut. 6:4) as compared with the states of matter:
1. Yahweh, The Pure Spirit -Abstract State, (Most Holy Place by the Pattern) the invisible, inscrutable principle has no shape and form and often depicts Himself as a cloud. This correlates with the gaseous state of matter. Note: See Diagram 5 (Lev. 16:2; Deut. 4:12; Matt. 17:5)
2. Elohim, the Word or Son -Intermediate State, (Holy Place by the Pattern) is visible only in visions and revelations. Elohim is Spirit or the Father, in part not totality, in shape and form of a man (Ex. 24:9-10; Jn. 1:1-4; 5:37). This is correlated with the liquid state of matter.
3. Yahshua the Messiah-Concrete State, (Court Round About by the Pattern) or Jesus Christ is Elohim in a physical body, the visible manifestation of Spirit (Col. 1:15-17; Jn. 1:14). This is correlated with the solid state of matter.
Now there are also three states of time: 1. Future; 2. Present; 3. Past. (See diagram 4 for the comparison by the three-fold pattern). We can make the same comparison about "time", being three-fold, as are the three states of matter and the three states of Spirit. For example very little is known about the future for a certainty (the Most Holy Place by the pattern). Likewise nothing can be understood about the Pure Spirit State of Yahweh the Father. He is Inscrutable and Incomprehensible or an Abstraction in this state and condition to man's finite mind. An understanding of the future can be obtained by understanding the present (the Holy Place by the pattern) and the past (the Court Round About by the pattern). Likewise it is Elohim or the Son and the Messiah in the flesh that reveals the Father to us. We have an understanding of the present by having a understanding of the past. It is the past which we understand the most, just as we have the most understanding of Elohim while he was made flesh as the Messiah (Jn. 1:14; 1 Tim. 3:16).
Does The Body's Formation Confirm the Structure of the GodHead?
Science also shows that these three states of Spirit are found in the formation of man. Human beings, like chickens or any other life form, come from a seed or an egg. All life forms in their beginning are without any shape and form. They are nothing more than genetic codes or genes and chromosomes, just as the earth was without form and void in its beginning (Gen. 1:1-3). This further proves that the Father Yahweh, Pure Spirit, has no shape and form (See Diagram 5). It is known that the implanted human fertilized egg, with the genetic code therein, begins to take on shape and form in a orderly fashion in the womb of a woman invisible to the human eye. This shows forth that Yahweh the Father in part took on the shape and form of a man that can be seen only in visions. See Diagram 1. Finally the baby is visibly seen after coming through the woman's birth canal.
Diagram 6 (below) compares the three germ cell layers of the fertilized human ovum that forms all the body's tissues and organs to the 3-fold pattern. They are:
1. Endodermal (the inner cell layer) that forms the stomach, lungs etc.;
2. Mesodermal (middle cell layer) that forms bones, muscles, joints, blood vessels, etc.;
3. Ectodermal (outer cell layer) that forms the skin, the nervous system, etc.
Each cell that makes up these layers are three-fold:
1. Nucleolus
2. Nucleus
3. Cell body
Man is also 1. Body, 2. Soul, 3. Spirit, and 1. Head Cavity, 2. Chest Cavity, and 3. Abdominal Cavity. Thus we see that man is completely three-fold.
These correlations present sufficient scientific proof and evidence to disprove Christendoms idea that there are three distinct personalities of the Godhead, who agree in one. We have ONE SPIRIT (not three distinct ones) that has the power to transform or transmute, in part, into the angelic and physical form or creation (Deut. 6:4; Zech. 9:14; John 17:22-23). The apostle Paul wrote in Eph. 4:3-4: "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit,... " If one can accept scientific proof and evidence, any doubt about Spirits power to transform into various manifestations or states and conditions would be dispelled.
Can Transformations Be Observed In Matter?
Modern science proves that matter can transform into energy, and energy can transform into matter. Thus we see that matter and energy arent separate substances, but in reality they are one in the same. Einstein the great theoretical physicist explained this relationship between matter and energy in his famous mathematical formula E=MC2. Nuclear power plants and modern weapons are excellent examples of transforming matter into energy. In fact this is how the stars, and our sun, in the universe operate.
A very simple example illustrating this principle is the burning of paper or wood. Wood is not destroyed by burning, but is transformed into heat and light energy with the residue of ashes being left from the burning process. The heat and light given off in the combustion process is not a separate substance from the wood, but a different state and condition of the wood. Thus, in the earth plane matter is not being destroyed, but transformed from one state and condition to another. This is the Law of the Conservation of Matter which states that matter is neither created nor destroyed during any physical or chemical change.
The reason matter and energy manifest the characteristics of transformation is because they are both created from the same parent source and substance - Pure Spirit which possesses these principles. So Elohim, the Word or Son (who is the Messiah Jn. 1:14; 1 Tim. 3:16), is not a separate substance or personality from the Father Yahweh, but a different state and condition. The Word or Son is the Father, in part, that can be seen in visions and revelations in the form of a Man. Remember the liquid and gaseous states of water arent separate substances, but are both H2O in different states and conditions. In fact, ice is the lowest state of water, as matter is energy in its lowest state.
Do Natural Transformations Point to Spiritual and Psychological Changes?
Looking again at matters ability to transform or transmute helps to understand the spiritual principle of transmutation or transformation of Yahweh Pure Spirit. In chemistry, the marriage or combining of two gaseous elements, Hydrogen and Oxygen, forms a liquid substance called water. Again, we see how various physical chemical elements have the ability to transmute or transform not only into a new substance, but a new state and condition when they are combining with other elements.
Understanding the natural or physical principle of transmutation enables one to see how the spiritual attributes of Love, Truth, Faith etc. can be transformed into Hate, Lies, Doubt, etc. their opposites. The transformation of attributes will be discussed in more detail in future issues. It is important to the reader to understand that one must take the visible, physical, or natural things to understand the invisible things of Spirit. The apostle Paul states in Rom. 1:19-20: "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"
Without the Pattern Does the Bible Contradict Itself?
Using the "Philosophical Measuring Rod" or the tabernacle pattern one is able to explain the Godhead or the Supernal nature. The apostle John wrote in John 1:18 " No man hath seen Elohim (God) at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." However, Exodus 24:9-10 says that Moses, Aaron, Nadab, and Abhiu and seventy elders saw Elohim (God) of Israel, atop the plateau of Mt. Sinai in their vision. If one believes Moses report, and there is no other evidence to refute it, then the apostle John would be a lair. Christendom can not explain this apparent contradiction.
We know the apostle John received the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. So the error lies not in John 1:18, but in the translators omission of the true Hebrew names and title of our Heavenly Father and His Son. The apostle John knew that no man had seen the Father Yahweh (Most Holy Place by the pattern) at any time, for He is Pure Spirit, and has no particular shape and form. It is the Son, Yahweh-Elohim (Holy Place by the pattern), who is seen in visions and revelations in the form of a man. Thus it is the Son that is declaring the invisible Father to us.
Christendom uses Lord and God interchangeably, not making a distinction between the two states of Spirit, the Son Elohim and the Father Yahweh. It is only when the true names and title are used along with the "measuring rod" that one can arrive at the truth free from traditions or customs and proven by scientific facts.
Can The Structure of the Tabernacle Be Explained?
Continuing with the structure of the tabernacle, there are three vessels, in principle, in each compartment (See the diagram at the top of this article):
1. THE MOST HOLY PLACE
(Entrance into it called the second vail
Heb. 9:3; Ex. 26:31-35)
A. The Ark of the Covenant and its two Cherubim of Glory with their wings overshadowing the Mercy Seat, contains the Ten Commandment Law written on tables of stones. (A Blue, Purple, and Scarlet colored Vail, lavishly embellished with Angelic figures divided the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. (Heb. 9:4-5; Ex. 37: 1-9).
2. THE HOLY PLACE
(Entrance into it called the first vail or Door)
(Ex. 26:36-37)
A. The Golden Altar of Incense
(Ex. 30:1-10; 25-28)
B. The Golden Seven Branch Candlestick
(Ex. 37:17-23)
C. The Golden Table of Shewbread
(Ex. 37:10-16)
3. THE COURT ROUND ABOUT
(entrance into it called the Strait Gate)
(Ex. 27:16; 38:18-20)
A. The Brazen Cup of Holy Anointing Oil
(Ex. 30:23-38; 37:29)
B. The Brazen Laver (containing the water for
washing of the priests Ex. 30:17-20)
C. The Brazen Altar of Sin Sacrifice (Ex. 27:1-8;
Ex. 38:1-7)
Note to the Reader: Chapters on tabernacle Ex. 25-32; 35-40
These nine vessels in the tabernacle reflect or can be correlated with the nine divine attributes that make up Yahweh-Elohims spiritual embodiment, in part, not totality. They are: 1. Intelligence, 2. Wisdom, 3. Knowledge, 4. Beauty, 5. Love, 6. Justice, 7. Foundation, 8. Power, 9. Strength. The physical body has nine systems to reflect this; 1. Nervous System, 2. Reproduction System, 3. Endocrine System, 4. Respiratory System, 5. Circulatory System, 6. Excretory System, 7. Digestion System, 8. Muscular System, 9. Skeleton System. There are nine planets in our solar system that revolve around the sun. All these witnesses prove that Yahweh is the source and substance of all things. Yahweh is Pure Spirit composed of nine principle attributes. The number nine is a very mystical number that we will discuss in future issues.
Does The Priest Function in the Court Round About by Blood, Water, and Spirit?
Now that we have the structure of the tabernacle understood, the next step is to understand the officiating or the function of the priests therein. There was one high priest and two low priests (typifying the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit - 1 Jn. 5:7) that performed all the duties in the tabernacle. Their chief daily duties were to offer up sacrifices for Israel on the Brazen Altar of Sin Sacrifice in the Court Round About and offer up incense on the Golden Altar of Incense, in the Holy Place at the time of evening and morning prayer. There were other functions the priests performed in the Holy Place that we will discuss in future articles.
Each compartment of the Tabernacle designates a certain function for the high priest. Likewise, in the physical body, the functions of the abdominal cavity (the Court Round About), differ from the operations of the chest cavity (Holy Place); both of which differ from what takes place in the head cavity (the Most Holy Place).
In the Court Round About of the tabernacle are the Brazen Altar of Sin Sacrifice and Laver. The altar had four horns on each corner and was seven and a half feet square. This is where the priests put the blood of the sacrifices offered to Yahweh for a burnt offering, sin offering, etc. The priests skinned the sacrifices, cut them into various pieces, washed them in the Brazen Laver, and burnt them upon the altar (Lev. 1st Chapter). The brazen laver is also where the priests washed. The scriptures give no dimensions for the laver.
So, the spiritual principle that the altar represents is Death or Blood and the laver represents Burial or Water. The brazen cup of holy anointing oil used to anoint the high Priest into office represents the Spirit or the Resurrection principle. Thus the spiritual principles in the Court Round About are: 1. Blood or Death - Altar; 2. Water or Burial - Laver; 3. Spirit or Resurrection - Oil.
These principles enabled the priests to enter or resurrect into the Holy Place. The Spirit, the Water, and the Blood are also the three witnesses in the earth that point to the three witnesses in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit (1 Jn. 5:7-8). The universe confirms the validity of the operation of these spiritual principles.
Is The Priest's Resurrection into the Holy Place Confirmed in the Universe?
For example, in the migration of the children of Israel out of Egypt, Yahweh told them through Moses to kill a lamb or goat and place the Blood on the top of the door, and on the two side posts of the door from a basin, making a four point configuration of Blood. This was the institution of the Passover. This is the principle of Blood or Death that protected them from the death angel (Ex. 12:1-22). Remember the High Priest in the tabernacle placed the Blood on the four horns of the brazen altar of sin sacrifice. The Israelites left Egypt following a Phenomenal Cloud that was a pillar of fire giving light by night and a cloud by day. This Phenomenal Cloud typified Spirit. The children came out of Egypt through the divided Waters of the Red Sea and Resurrected into the Wilderness of Sinai.
Hence the Children came out of Egypt by the Blood of the Lamb, through the Waters of the Sea, following a cloud, Spirit. The killing of the lamb in Egypt, Israels Burial in the Red Sea (1 Cor. 10:1-4), and their Resurrection into the Wilderness of Sinai typifies the Death of the Messiah, who is the true lamb, his Burial and Resurrection (John 1:29, 5:39). The four points of blood on the door correlates with the four points of blood on the cross, (nails in his hands and feet and crown of thorns on His Head).
Now there are many who doubt the Messiahs Death, Burial and Resurrection. Those who are skeptical fail to realize that these spiritual principles are manifested throughout the universe. The Death, Burial, and Resurrection principle can be seen in the birth of a human being. As the mother gives birth to her baby (a New Creature - Rev. 21:1-3), there is a show of Blood. Her Water bag bursts (the embryonic fluid flows) and the Spirit principle is manifested by the babys first breath.
The daily rest and regeneration of the human body manifests these principles. Sleep is the closest thing to Death. Men awake renewed with strength, which typifies a Resurrection after being covered in blankets or Buried all night. The four seasons of the year also reflect a Death, Burial, and Resurrection. Fall represents a death when the leaves fall from the trees and the sap dries up therein. Winter represents a Burial when the snow covers the ground. Spring is a Resurrection as the plants burst through the soil to fruition.
All seeds must go through a Death, Burial and Resurrection. Now before any seed is planted, it is always in a dormant state or Death like state. For any seed to bring forth fruit or Resurrect, it must be Buried in the ground, Watered and given sunlight. Thus we see how these principles of a Death, Burial, and Resurrection operate in the plant kingdom.
Does The Priest's Officiation in The Holy Place Compare With The Messiah's Resurrection?
Now the priests resurrected into the Holy Place from the Court Round About by these principles of blood, water, and Spirit. In the Holy Place the priest washed up and changed from his bloody linen cloths or garments into clean linen garments to officiate therein (Lev. 6:10-11). This is correlated with the Messiah in the flesh, in his bloody clothes (Isa. 63:1-3), or his physical body, which was a sacrifice for sin. His body (not the Spirit) was buried in Josephs new tomb and He arose a quickening Spirit. Yahshua changed his garments, in principle, when he took off the physical body. In this resurrected form Yahshua, who is Elohim, is in the intermediate state or Holy Place by the three-fold pattern. The Messiah resurrecting into a ghost-like Spirit form after His death, compares to the priest changing his bloody garments to clean clothes in the Holy Place of the tabernacle. Both of which compare to ice (Court Round About by the Pattern), the concrete or solid state of water, changing into the liquid state (Holy Place by the Pattern). The cardinal point here is that the Holy Place represents the resurrected state.
Now the Messiah said to his disciples in Matt. 24:15: "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) " The Holy Place is not a geographical location or physical building, but a state and condition of the soul or mind being in a spiritual or a resurrected state (Rom. 12:1-2; Col. 3:1-9). Remember the children of Israel heard the voice of Yahweh speaking from Mt. Sinai in the wilderness which is the Holy Place in the migration. Likewise those that are resurrected spiritually in their hearts and minds, or are standing in the Holy Place, hear the small still voice that speaks from heaven (I Kings 19:12). Note to the Reader: The Court Round About of the tabernacle represents the carnal minded state or hell. This is a spiritual and psychological state of death and ignorance of our Heavenly Father, as Israel was ignorant of Yahweh in Egypt.
Do Christian's Believe in a Physical Resurrection?
It should be noted that Christendom believes the Messiah arose a physical body because they cannot explain how the Messiah showed his disciples the nail prints in his feet and hands (Luke 24:36-40). They don't realize that this was a vision being shown to the disciples, although the disciples were not conscious that they were seeing a vision. What Christendom doesn't understand is that the resurrected spirit form of the Messiah has the power to appear in the form of a fleshly body to his disciples, as matter can move from gas to solid. Likewise, the Messiah can descend by the Pattern, which dictates a change, moving from the Most Holy Place to the Court Round About.
How Did The Priest Function in the Most Holy Place?
Now the high priest would change into his special garments of beauty and splendor in the Holy Place (Ex. 39th Chap.), and enter into the Most Holy Place only once a year on the Day of Atonement to make atonement for the children of Israel's sins. He entered the Most Holy Place three times that day: once for himself, once for the sins of Israel, and once for the cleansing of the sanctuary. In fulfillment the Messiah ascended into heaven after tarrying forty days on earth (Acts 1:9-10).
This ascension into heaven (Most Holy Place by the Pattern) by the Messiah, the true high priest after the order of Melchisedec, is typified by the high priest entering the Most Holy Place. It is also reflected by water in the liquid state changing into the gaseous state.
Do States and Conditions Either Ascend or Descend?
In concluding this article, an ascent in the tabernacle pattern is done by taking off the flesh or dense form in order to move from the Court Round About to the Most Holy Place. A descent in the tabernacle pattern from the Most Holy Place to the Court Round About is done by putting on flesh. Now if spirit is descending in the pattern, it is making itself visible or going from invisibility to visibility. If Spirit is ascending, it is going from visibility to invisibility. The three states of matter verifies the three states of spirit. Further research or study on this subject can be obtained from Elohim the Archetypal (Original) Pattern of the Universe by Dr. Henry C. Kinley.
