 Introduction

The recent scandal in the American Roman Catholic Church (RCC) concerning priests who are pedophiles is having devastating affects upon Roman Catholic parishioners (RC) and those molested, which number into the thousands. Polls taken reveal that Catholics’ views have radically changed toward the American Cardinals and the pope.

The CBS poll dated May 2, 2002, taken after the U.S. Cardinals Conference with Pope John Paul II, reveals that over 52% of Americans and 45% of Roman Catholics believe that the pope and the Vatican have done a poor job in handling child molesting cases in America, while 40% thinks that they have done a good job. The pope said at the meeting with America cardinals that it is “a sin in the eyes of God” for priests to sexually abuse children.

Now 58% of Roman Catholics feel that because child molestation is such a devastating crime, the pope’s punishment should be just as severe. More than half of all RC believe that the pope knew about the sexual abuse charges all along. In short, the poll showed that over two-thirds of the RCs are not satisfied with the Church hierarchy’s handling of this problem.

There are two problems facing the American RCC. First, hundreds of millions of molested victims are mounting court litigations against the RCC. There are RC dioceses, such as the one in Boston and others, that are facing bankruptcy, not to mention the once Great Mother Church being disgraced. Secondly, the number of priests that are pedophile and homosexual is so high that if convicted priests were dismissed, there would be no one to tend the flock. 

Texas Marrs says that homosexuality among the RC priests are as high as 80% (see website http://www.texemarrs.com/022002/two_on_a_saddle_part_ii.htm).

Finally, this is not a recent or new problem for the RCC. Sexual deviants have been a problem in the RC for hundreds of years. There are innumerable past accounts in Europe of the RC priests being banned from certain towns because of child molesting and having sex with men’s wives.  What is the intent of this article?

 It is impossible to understand the homosexual and pedophile problem facing the American RCC and the American society, without some historical context. Images of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gn. 19^th chp.) may enter the mind to give some reference to the extent of this wicked dilemma. But this tells us nothing about the various cultures’ historical practices.

To understand the homosexual and pedophile today in the Roman Catholic Church, American society, and many secret societies, one has to study the ancient pagans societies’ views toward God, Sex and Magic.

What must be understood is that homosexuality, pederasty (boy/man love), was commonly practiced among the pagan religions or Gentiles. From time to time homosexuality and pedophilia was allowed to flourish during liberal times and suppressed during other times when the birth population dropped off so severely. Our liberal education dumbs us down to the point where we have no historical context for the problem.

The homosexual writer Judy Grahn in her book Another Mother Tongue shows how universal homosexuality was in the various cultures. “Many aspects of shamanism had homosexual content, and many of the gods, spirits, and divinities of the world have been associated with Gayness. In Tahiti there were special divinities for homosexual worship. The ancient Shinto temples of Japan display scenes of sexual ritual orgies similar to those of the Baccanalia of the Romans. ..the Great Mother Goddess of ancient China, K wan- Yin, was worshipped with sexual rites that included homosexuality. When the Spanish conquistadores reached Central America and the Yucatan, they found a prevalence of Gay priests and sacred statues and stone sculpture depicting the homosexual union as a sacred act. In the Yucatan the god Chin is said to have established sacred homosexuality and a Gay priesthood serving in the temples just as was true of the temples of ancient Babylon and Sumeria (Grahn: 129). “

In these Gentiles’ temples, sex and worship, which is the focus of this article, were very intertwined. This article will also cover magic and its relationship to sex and the gods, fertility cults, and temple prostitution. Part Two of this article will cover homosexuality in the Greek culture and Nazism movement, and its spiritual significance. The reader must remember that Israel was forbidden to practice homosexuality and Paul and the Apostles confronted it after Pentecost.

Many Americans and Christians throughout the world are not conscious of the fact that many roots of the RC traditions are based in paganism (See The Two Babylons or The Papal Worship Proved To Be The Worship of Nimrod and His Wife, by The Rev. Alexander Hislop, Loizeaux Brothers, 1916).

Yahweh prohibited Israel from participating in these practices, for He considered them an abomination. The Christians and Moslems were the major forces that eradicated paganism and their homosexual practice.

With the rebirth of paganism today, especially in the last 40 years, homosexuality has been decriminalized and not considered a mental disorder anymore. Thus, it is seeking its place in American society and world as it did in ancient pagan societies. [In future issues, articles will be written on the New World Order agenda of population control and how homosexuality fulfills these goals.]

 God, Sex & Magic

In most cultures there was a belief that magic could control the gods and elements, such as the wind, weather, etc., and that sex coupled with magic was a means to control various energies. This may sound strange, but this is the belief system of most ancient societies.

Now anthropologists have found four elements common among the various primitive and advanced societies that correlate sex, psychic energies, and magic rituals. These will enable modern western man to understand the ancient man’s belief system.

Ingo Swan lists them in his book Psychic Sexuality (p. 61):

1.   awareness of invisible energies

2.   different sexual formats, often ritualized

3.   connections of apparent sexualizing energies with “higher powers of the mind”

4.   the use of erotic methods to enhance creative and psychic capacities

From this quote one can see that ancient man’s belief system held that using various sexual rituals to enhance orgasms could heighten certain energies and activate higher powers of the mind.

Those that have studied the various secret societies, such as the OTO (Ordo Templi Orientis), Golden Dawn and Occult of Nazism, know that sex, psychic energies, and magic rituals are the foundation of their beliefs. In short, they believe the homosexual union is a sacred union that will result in empowerment and bonding.

A brief investigation of ancient magic belief will enable one to better understand this.

 What are the principles of Ancient Magic?

In the classic book The Golden Bough by James G. Frazer he discuses the principles in the ancient belief of magic. Quoting from the book Golden Bough it states:  “The principles of magic if we analyse the principles of thought on which magic is based, they will probably be found to resolve themselves into two: first, that like produces like, or that an effect resembles its cause; and, second, that things which have once been in contact with each other continue to act on each other at a distance after the physical contact has been severed.”

These two principles are the basis of all magic no matter what culture. Mr. Frazer names these two principles: the former is the Law of Similarity; the latter is the Law of Contact or Contagion. He describes the magician’s belief on how these principles are used as follows. “… the Law of Similarity, the magician infers that he can produce any effect he desires merely by imitating it: from the second he infers that whatever he does to a material object will affect equally the person with whom the object was once in contact, whether it formed part of his body or not.”

The application of these principles can be seen when magicians use charms and amulets. Mr. Frazer writes that charms are based on the Law of Similarity, called Homoeopathic or Imitative Magic. He also describes that certain charms, such as Voodoo dolls, are based on the Law of Contact or Contagion that may be called Contagious Magic.

Now Mr. Frazer describes the meaning of the term Homoeopathic or Imitative or Mimetic. He states that it is “a conscious agent who imitates, ….”  This means that “the magician applies in the practice of this art are implicitly believed by him to regulate the operations of inanimate nature;” The magician’s belief system thinks that one can manipulate the weather and other inanimate phenomena by some rituals. 

This concept explains the beliefs and actions of many ancient cultures. Fertility cults believe that the action of various humans having sex fertilizes the soil. Sex was used as the means of worshipping and communicating with the gods, such as Tammuz and Isis.

 What is a fertility cult?

 As was stated in the beginning of this article, ritualized sexual practice along with the belief in magic, caused the ancient to believe that they could alter the course of nature or manipulate inanimate matter. A list of the following sexual acts follow.

•      Quoting the book Deadly Doctrine (Prometheus Books Buffalo, NY) by Wendell W. Watters, M.D. It states:  “Early fertility cults… had incorporated in their religious ceremonies a variety of ritualized sexual behaviors involving priests, priestesses and worshippers. Male-to-male fellatio was one of these ritualized activities, … (p.100)” Yahweh forbade Israel in performing these rituals, which we will discuss later.

•      Most cultures practiced fertility rites by believing that without males and females having sexual intercourse in the field, neither the field nor the forest could not grow or produce. As mentioned earlier, fertility rites were deeply associated with primitive magic. The Golden Bough states: “…plants reproduce their kind through the sexual union of male and female elements, and that on the principle of homoeopathic or imitative magic this reproduction is supposed to be stimulated by the real or mock marriage of men and women, who masquerade for the time being as spirits of vegetation (p. 161).”

It is important to understand the relationship between Gentiles’ belief in magic and sexual intercourse, which the Israelites were forbidden to practice.

 Did temple worship exist in Old Babylon?

Sex played an important part in the Gentile’s forms of worshipping their various deities, for it was considered a sacred union, especially when it came to temple worship. The New Unger’s Bible Dictionary (Moody Press of Chicago, Illinois. Copyright (c) 1988) points out that all women of Babylon were required to serve in the temple as prostitutes once during their life.

Unger states: “Temple Prostitute (Heb. qedesha, “to consecrate”). In the three passages (Gen 38:21-22; Deut 23:17; Hos 4:14), one “set apart to a sacred purpose,” according to the infamous rites in use among the worshipers of certain deities in Canaan and neighboring countries. [The Greek historian] Herodotus refers to the custom of the Babylonians, who compelled every native female to attend the temple of Venus once in her life and to prostitute herself in honor of the goddess.”  

Fausset’s Bible Dictionary, (Electronic Database Copyright (c)1998 by Biblesoft) states: “The men of Babylon made Saccoth Benoth” their idol in Samaria (2 Kings 17:30); the idol’s name means “booths for their daughters,” referring to their prostitution in this detestable worship. The masculine qadesh (OT:6946), “Sodomites,” implies male prostitution in the same vile worship (Deut 23:17; 1 Kings 14:24; 15:12; 22:46; 2 Kings 23:7; Job 36:14). After Amnon raped Tamar, she veiled herself and sat by the wayside as a consecrated harlot (qedeesh, OT:6943, 2 Sam. 13^th Chapter) under a vow, and was so regarded by Judah.

The classical biblical Clarke’s Commentary shows that temple prostitution was an integral part of the Gentile’s form of worship and it was also one of the main sources of revenue. “Public prostitution formed a considerable part of their religion; and they were accustomed in their public prayers, to request the gods to multiply their prostitutes! ...for commerce with them was neither esteemed sinful nor disgraceful. Lais, so famous in history , was a Corinthian prostitute, and whose price was not less than 10,000 drachmas So notorious was this city for such conduct, that the verb to Corinthize, signified to act the prostitute. … Multitudes of women gave the money they gained by their public prostitution at the temples for the support of the priesthood, the ornamenting of the walls, altars, and images. So that these things...were literally the hire of the harlots: …” It can also be seen why Yahweh chose the symbol of a whore in Mystery Babylon the Great Mother of Harlots and the Abomination of the Earth to represent spiritual prostitution and fornication.

 Why was homosexuality forbidden by Israel?

When Yahweh gave Israel His divine laws, after they came out of Egypt, approximately 1500 years before the birth of the Messiah, He forbade them from performing any pagan religion practices that were universal at this time (Deu. 7:1-6). Yahweh made them a peculiar people, the light to the world, to show men how to worship Him.

As revealed in this article, prostitution was common among the Gentiles, but forbidden in Israel by the Law of Moses (Lev 19:29; 21:9; Deut 23:18). Sons or daughters of Israel were forbidden to prostitute themselves. The penalty for doing so was death.

A priest’s daughter playing the whore was burnt to death (Lev 21:9). The children of a harlot could not inherit their father’s possessions as his legitimate children could (John 8:41; Deut 23:2). “Bastard” means one born of incest or adultery; so the rabbis explain Judge 11:1-2. Israel was instructed by Yahweh Elohim to destroy the altars and temples of the Gentiles (Deu. 7:1-9)

Israel was constantly being seduced into mimicking the Gentile’s customs of worshiping their idols, which led to prostituting their sons and daughters. For their sins Yahweh plagued them (Hos. 4:12-14).

 Were the Apostles confronted with Pagan customs?

After the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem in A.D. 33 (Acts 2:1-4) the Apostles were confronted with many of these gentiles’ customs. The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Corinth Assembly about the practice of fornication there. This was not between husband and wife as many Christian Churches teaches.

The Corinth city had many temples, where there were many temple prostitutes, both men and women. Paul told them that being members of the Messiah’s body they could not defile themselves with these Gentile’s devilish customs. He wrote: “Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ (the Messiah)? shall I then take the members of Christ (the Messiah), and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid (1 Cor. 6:15).

This was a continued problem for the Apostles so it should come as no surprise that so many priests and ministers in the church as well as government officials are gay. When the Apostles met in A.D. 52 in Jerusalem to consider whether or not the converted Gentiles were required to kept the laws of Moses and be circumcised, they all agreed that this was not necessary under the New Covenant. Acts 15:20 “But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.” Abstaining from fornication meant to refrain from having sex with temple prostitutes, a practice that was so prevalent in their day.

 What was the Apostle Paul’s explanation of the homosexual of his day?

This article has shown that homosexuality was a common practice among the Gentile’s religions. In fact, most of the Gentile priests were practicing homosexuals and had prominent positions in the temple and government.
