I HEARD A VOICE FROM HEAVEN, Part One

NOTE: Although the True Names were revealed to Dr. Kinley in a vision in 1931, he used Lord, God, and Jesus Christ until he published Elohim, The Archetype Original Pattern of the Universe in 1961. Minor editorial changes also have been made for clarity and to preserve the flow of thought.
Announcer: I would like to present at this time, the Founder and Dean of this School, Dr. Henry C. Kinley.
Dr. Kinley: Thank you. I am indeed happy and glad to be here again, to talk with you and speak about the things that pertain to God and His Purpose and the Kingdom of God .... the reality of it. I shall be speaking for quite some time about the origin of this world, what it means and, how to understand something about it, because it is the result of a revelation.
I have done everything within my power to try to make men and women conscious of the Ever-Presence of God. There is A LIVING GOD, an up-to-date God, not an antique, or ... a passive God ... I want you to realize that God is alive, and it is not me that I want you to see. I do not want you to know something about me. It is not me that I want you to understand something about, not at all. But, I am eager to convey to you the things that God has shown me, in the year nineteen-hundred and thirty-one (1931).
Are people who receive visions more holy than anyone else?
Since I constantly mention the vision I received from God, there may be some that become somewhat antagonistic. They may get the wrong conception or the wrong idea about my purpose and intent for coming before you. They may think that I mean to pose as some Great One, myself. I want you to know that this is a false perception. It is not true. I have never, at any time, tried to impart the idea that I, myself amounted to anything. I am just another one of the brethren, trying to convey to you the things that God has given me.
How was Dr. Kinley before he received the vision?
I have tried my best to tell you that I, too, have come up through the experiences that everybody, sitting under the sound of my voice, have had. I belonged to this church and that one, and this organization and the other, and so forth and so on. I, too, have been taught, and lived as you have lived, but in the year, nineteen-hundred and thirty-one (1931), God gave me a Divine Vision and a Revelation.
Did Dr. Kinley understand the vision?
I DID NOT understand the vision when I saw it. I have never tried to make anybody think that I did. But, that same day, the meaning of that vision was revealed to me. And I have told you, many times, that it revolutionized, my thinking and did away with my power of perceiving God and His Purpose. It moved me out of the category of skepticism and made me begin to wonder.
Why did Paul think he was the 'chief sinner'?
Well, I did not think that I was the worst fellow. I never have thought that. Neither did I think I was better than anybody else. I never thought that. I will tell you like the Apostle Paul said. He said that this is a true saying and worthy of acceptation. Yahshua the Messiah came into the world to save sinners of whom I AM THE CHIEF. Thats what he thought about himself. He said that he was the chief sinner. I believe he was almost justified in making that statement, too. For the simple reason that he did lead the persecutors of the Apostles when they were out to preach the Resurrection from the Dead. And he held the raiment of them that slew Stephen. Also, he told Timothy that he was a blasphemer and an injurious person, because he persecuted the Assembly of God (I Tim. 1:13) you call it the church of God.
Did Paul sin ignorantly?
But he said, I received mercy because I did it ignorantly and through unbelief. He did not realize at that time, that so far as the Purpose of God, in its declaration from the beginning, that he was to be an Apostle. And, all the contrary things that he did prepared him for the persecution he would face in his ministry. That meant that Paul did not have anything at all to boast about. He told Felix, Festus, and Agrippa that all of the Jews knew how he persecuted the Church for a witness. Then, he went on to tell them about the God of his fathers, according to the things that were stipulated in the Scriptures, that had happened. He said that he did not have anything to cover-up or to hide, one way or the other. Everything that he had said, that caused him to be, in trouble, after he saw the Vision, was nothing more than what Moses and the Prophets said would happen.
So, I looked at it like the Apostles did. Paul said that when it PLEASED God, who separated him from his mothers womb, God put him in the Ministry. Because God put him in there, you see why he was not hesitant, but obedient to the Heavenly Vision. He counted himself happy and told Felix, Festus, and Agrippa, who were king, priest and governor. Paul was happy that he was permitted to speak for himself, touching all accusations that the Jews made. The thing that made him so happy was that old Agrippa, thats the king, knew that Paul was an expert in the Law of the Jews and customs. And so, for that reason, Paul was real happy that he was permitted or, given the opportunity to speak for himself.
Does history repeat itself?
Now, I have laid a foundation to tell you how it was in the beginning of the Present Age and Present Dispensation. The Apostles came along and preached after the Messiah had been crucified, resurrected, ascended, and poured out the Holy Spirit. We are coming down to the close of this Age, when everything that has transpired through the Dispensations and Ages repeats itself, over, and over, and over, and over, and over. There is not a thing in the past, not a thing, that is not in the present, and will be in the future, not a thing (Eccl. 1:9) Thats the reason why the Messiah said, I Am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End (Rev. 1:11). His Purpose works with unerring accuracy, with infallibility, through the Dispensations and Ages.
Why was Dr. Kinley put out of the Church of God?
I told you many times that after I was Assistant Pastor of the Church of God and was PUT OUT, I thought it was a pretty bad thing. I just might as well relate what happened to me truthfully and get it over with. I was SILENCED. The thought that was within me was, surely, there ought to be some way whereby we could understand the Purpose of God. LISTEN! If God has appointed a day, wherein He shall judge the world in Righteousness, by that Man whom He hath ordained, surely then, there should be some way that we could call ourselves good Christians. We ought to be able to see eye-to-eye, or face-to-face. I thought, surely, there should be some way.
Was writing the vision in a book a good way to share it?
It was in my heart to write a book, and go back to the brethren and try to convince them of my honesty and integrity. I got busy and started to write that book. I went upstairs in the attic in my home at that time and I started to write. Well, I guess I must have worked on it three or four weeks, maybe longer, or maybe not so long, I do not remember. But anyway, the thought came to me that many men, far smarter than I am, have written many, many books. I knew of Matthew Henry, commentators Pendelton, Burroughs, and just a lot of commentators, and a lot of smart theologians, that had written books. I wondered whether my book would have any more influence on Christendom, than the books that have already been written, so I decided that writing another book will not do.
Since Dr. Kinley could not write the vision, what did he do?
I QUIT! I took my little dog and went on upon the creek. I sat down up there for nearly two years, in that melancholy state, backwards and forwards. I lived the days alone and by myself. There was no one but my dog and me. I looked at nature in its simplicity and in its reality. I wondered to myself, surely, there ought to be some way that God could judge the world in Righteousness. There ought to be some way to convince mankind. If it could not be done now, and it was utterly impossible to convince mankind, and for us to become reconciled ..., then I could see no future, potential possibility of it [a righteous judgement]. I remember being in my dining room and rocking in the rocking chair. I was looking at the wall. I had just newly re-papered my house and was looking at how beautiful this wallpaper was before I had planned to make my departure. If you listen to what I am telling you, it is important. I had one of the greatest, stupendous visions, I believe, that has ever been given to any man. It was not out of harmony with anything that had been revealed here, before. It was not out of harmony with that revealed to Moses, the Prophets, and the Apostles.
I told you after I had the Vision that I did not understand it. Then, I went into another state [of consciousness]. I might just say that I was taken out of the world. And there was explained to me the meaning of the vision that I had. It was revealed to me.
Was the vision only for Dr. Kinley?
Now, the thing I am trying to tell you about is this. I did not think that I was so bad myself, or any worse than anybody else, for God to go through all that trouble just on my account, to get me saved. And I thought then, evidently it must be for someone else, as much as it is for me. So then, I said, well, I will go out and tell somebody about it. NO! It silenced me, I could not go and tell anybody anything. I realized that they would not believe the thing that I would tell them any way. I did not believe it ... until ... I had the Vision and the Revelation. So now, I am just up against it. So then, there was not but one thing that it taught me to do, just one thing, and that was this. It taught me to draw out these charts and try to convey to somebodys mind the Divine Authenticity, the Unerring Accuracy, the Infallibility of God and His Purpose, as was revealed to Moses and the Prophets.
I am trying to convey to you that the Messiah DID COME in the World at the "appointed time." He lived and fulfilled the Law and Prophecy to the very jot and tittle, or to the letter (Matt. 5:17-18). And then, after He Fulfilled it [the Law], then all the carnality, all the literal, all the physical, all of the natural, were moved out of the way (Col. 2:14-16). The Purpose was this: that we might worship God in Spirit and Truth and that God DID seek man to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24).
Does the simplicity of the gospel surpass the wisdom of the world?
Now you listen, because everything I am saying to you is vitally important to your salvation. Paul said, He would bring to nought the Wisdom of the Wise (I Cor. 1:19). You will remember, we had Scribes, Pharisees ... Sadducees, and about six different factions of them back there (See "Divisions Among the Jews in Yahshua's Time," in the "Did U Know" section of the November/December 1993 issue of the "PLIM REPORT.") He said He would bring to nought ... or destroy the Wisdom of the Wise and bring to nought the Understanding of the Prudent. Now, just reading that makes no difference. People just read that in a passive sense, in a passive way. He said that He came to fulfill. Matt. 5:17 states: "Think not, that I come to destroy the Law or the Prophets, but I come to Fulfill, and verily, verily, I tell you, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass until it is all Fulfilled". Right? Now, here is the destruction of the Wisdom of the Wise and to bring to nought the Understanding of the Prudent. Here is where Paul got in trouble. This is how he became a blasphemer and an injurious person, because he was sentenced to keep the Law. And he said, as touching the Law, when he was persecuting, he was blameless (I Tim. 1:12-13).
How did the Scribes and Pharisees try to conceal the Messiahs resurrection?
When the Messiah was buried in Josephs new tomb, hewn out in the rocks, those soldiers were there at that tomb. They went up to the Sanhedrin Council and told them that He had risen from the dead, as He said that He would do (Matt. 20:19, 27:63; Mark 8:31, 9:31; 10:34, Lk. 18:33, 24:7; John 20:9; Acts 26:23) ! Now, they went and made that report to all seventy of them. Now what they did was BRIBE the soldiers (Matt. 28:11). The religious leaders told them not to let this get out into the community and they gave them money. If it did get out, then, our last error would be worse than the first. Now, the first error they made was to crucify the Son of God. And they said now that "Deceiver" saith, that He would raise from the dead, on the third day! The Scribes and Pharisees told the guards to go and seal up the sepulcher and make it as sure as they could. They asked them for that provision. So then, they sealed up the sepulcher to make it safe and put a guard down there. Those soldiers right there, I am talking about. And when an Angel of the Lord descended and rolled the stone away, and sat upon it, they went up there and told the Sanhedrin Council. Thats gospel according to Matthew, Mark and Luke (Matt. 28:2; Mark 16:3-6; Lk. 24:1-8).
Who gave Paul authority to persecute the true believers?
The Apostle Paul, who was not called Apostle, studied at the feet of Gamaliel. He was just like a lot of people aspiring to be a somebody. They wanted to be something. So then, the Sanhedrin Council gave him credentials and sent him out to persecute those Apostles. Now, it was their job to go and put to death, anyone that disobeyed the Law according to the Law. But now, THOSE HYPOCRITES SAT THERE, they would not go themselves. They sent Paul out to do that. They gave him letters of authority to do their job, and they sat back in seclusion. So then Paul, with these letters of authority, went out to persecute the true believers that were preaching the Resurrection from the Dead.
Did Paul hear a voice from heaven?
Yahshua the Messiah appeared to him on the highway and he went to Damascus and called him by name, Saul. He wanted to go back and jump on them that the Sanhedrin Council had sent him out to arrest. The resurrected Messiah said: No. Dont do that. You go on down to Damascus where you started and there will be somebody down there to instruct you. So, he went on down... Straight street in Damascus, and he met the proper authorities down there in the house of Judas. And they told him that the Lord promised to have some [assemblies] there, and told him what they were going to do. Now listen, instead of him going back to Jerusalem, Paul went to Arabia. The Holy Spirit sent him to Arabia. Now I have not heard very many explanations of why he went into Arabia to the Ministry, and why he could not go back to Jerusalem.
Can man hear a voice from heaven?
And that brings me to my text. I very seldom have a text, I just usually preach the Bible, but this morning I have a text. My text will be found in the 14th chapter of Revelation, and the second verse. Now when you have found it, please read.
READER: "And, I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters; and, as the voice of a great thunder. And I heard the voice of harpers, harping with their harps."
DR. KINLEY: I heard a voice from heaven, THAT is my text. Now what I mean by that, is this. John is saying that he heard a voice from heaven. He did not say that he heard a voice from the Vatican. He did not say that he heard the voice of the General Council. He told you unmistakably where he had heard the voice. I heard a voice from Heaven, as a sound of many waters. Now what I am telling you is this.
Did Dr. Kinley 'hear a voice from heaven'?
Just as John and Moses heard that Voice from Heaven, I am trying to tell you that I, too, Heard that Voice from Heaven. And I have been under the impression for thirty-five years that I heard that Voice from Heaven. Not because I was such a bad, or such a good man, one way or the other. I heard the voice because I was searching. I did not realize that the fifteen years that I was Assistant Pastor was preparing me for the Gospel that I would preach. I did not know that all those experiences would lead up to the same thing.
But that morning when I heard that Voice from Heaven ... remember I told you that I had been in a quandary. WHY? and HOW? Since there were so many sects, cults, denominations, and creeds in the world, since we are all plagued, God has appointed a Day, wherein He shall judge the World in Righteousness, by that Man whom He hath Ordained. I could not see any possibility of Universal Reconciliation because each and everyone wants to hold on to their particular religious concepts, as did the Pharisees and Sadducees in the days when the Messiah was here.
So, in hearing that voice from Heaven, every time I read Revelation, every time I read about Moses, the voice is as vivid in my heart and mind today as it was then. And as I said before, I knew that it would not do any good to go out there in the World and try to tell them. However, I had a message . I had received a message to give to them. So then, that made me proceed to draw out these charts.
How do the charts depict the vision?
Now, I told you the other night, that we have taken these charts that are drawn out to universities. We have had them before smart men and they are many years old. This chart here beat that one over there by being the first one that I tried to teach from. The first one I made, you recall, was the Pattern and Plan of Salvation. And nobody, from anywhere, up until this time ... up until this very day, has ever been able to refute it and it is futile to try. YES, we have had people come in school that never understood. They will say, I do not think this chart accurately depicts the Bible. They did not know what they were looking at. They did not understand it. And those that did make some kind of study of it, could only fall in line with it, because I just put down here what I saw. Its to the best of my ability, and I know the art is not of today. I know the art is not up-to-date.
Did the ability to prophesy come with the vision?
Now listen to me folks; this is serious. Along with that Vision and Revelation, comes the knowledge of Prophecy. I have told you every major historical event thats happened in the world to-date. You are my witness! People all across this country have been healed of many diseases. These healings have been verified and confirmed by medical authorities.
To specify a little ... to enumerate a few things, I told you about Roosevelts last run for the President of the United States of America. I told you that he would be nominated, elected, and he would not be in the White House one year from that day. All you have to do is consult history about it. I told you, way back before 35 about the Second World War, and wrote the President of the United States of America about it. I told him when the Nations would go to war and what would happen and so forth and so on, and when it would terminate, and it happened just like I said.
Did Dr. Kinley prophecy D-Day?
There is a man sitting in the audience, that worked with mejust one man. He was there when the announcement came from the White House that they were visiting Wright Aeronautical Plant in Lockton, Ohio. & They told all the employees to sit down, do nothing., and wait for that broadcast to come in the shop. They shut all the machinery down. And one of the brethren, sitting in the audience ... in the congregation right now, walked in my office. I had an office there too. He walked in my office and said to me; Well, is this it? Is this the day? I said, No, there will be no announcement that the war is terminated as of today. It would not happen, not today, because thats not the date that was shown to me in the Vision back in 1931. That man is sitting in the audience. Would you mind standing up? Thats right, thank you.
Did listening to the 'voice' get Dr. Kinley in trouble?
I made another announcement in that same plant and I was arrested by the FBI. I have been in plenty of trouble about this Voice that I heard from Heaven. I have been in plenty of trouble. I did have a method to take it away. I said that there would be a governmental investigation in Wright Aeronautical Plant within thirty days, and the top executives and officials of that plant would lose their jobs if the FBI got me and put me on the carpet. And they told me that I had to repudiate or withdraw my statement, because if I did not, I would have made myself subject to discharge, immediate discharge. I had on a suit of overalls, and at the time my job was to mop the floor, wipe up oil. I had a mop cart just like anybody else. So then, they carried me up there and they asked me whether I made that statement. I said. Yes, I did. I certainly did. But I did not know who the FBI was.
When I heard my name called on the public address system, I never did answer it. I ignored it because only officials were called on that thing. When I heard my name called, I wondered to myself, I did not know that there was another Henry C. Kinley in there, and I just ignored it. Well, I was supposed to go to the telephone and answer the call, but I would not go. So, George Stingline and the guard at the plant came and got me. And while I am talking about George Stingline, I want to tell you about him. George Stingline, afterwards, became the Secretary of this United ...
Did Dr. Kinley prophesy a government investigation of Wright Aeronautical Plant?
I said, there would be a government investigation. Harry S. Truman walked through Wright Aeronautical Plant within thirty days. I told them that top officials there, would lose their jobs! Just like I said!
Now here I go back on the carpet again. FOR WHAT?!! They did not tell me, they said they wanted to see me up in the Personnel Department. And so, I went up to the Personnel Department with the guard right along beside me and I had on my same overalls. But I had told that man when I was up there before, When I speak, I HAVE SPOKEN. And I just ripped my overalls down. I thought, as of today I AM FIRED. I told them, I REFUSE to take back what I said, because when I SPEAK I HAVE SPOKEN. THATS THE WAY IT IS! Thats just what I told him.
So he said, No, you are not fired He sent me on back to work, but he cautioned me, to keep my mouth shut. He told me to keep my mouth shut. Well, I would not promise them ... I told them just like Peter and them said (Acts 4:18-20), you be the judge, whether its right in the sight of God. So, they sent me on back and I went back to mopping.
And when the officials lost their jobs, back on the carpet I went again. And they told me, As of today, you are fired, fired off that job of mopping the floor. You do not mop floors here. Your office is in the South Shop basement and has been already arranged for you. Take your overalls off and the guards will direct you and carry you to your position.
I DONT WANT A JOB, not like that!; I said, I want to mop the floors. They said, Im sorry, you cant mop the floors. TAKE HIM OUT, and so, they let me out ... Dr. Allen knows Im telling the truth about that, because he was a constant visitor. I was in charge of distribution of supplies all over that plant. It was the biggest airplane plant there was in the world at that time. But I didnt feel like worrying with that, then coming out of there and worrying with my insurance job in the daytime. I worked day and night and tried to teach the School on top of it. I didnt want it.
Now the reason why Im mentioning these things to you is to call your attention back to these things. I am trying to tell you that whatever God says or reveals, whether you believe in it or not, or, whether you ever heard it before or not, its so anyhow. And I want to let you know too, that it [a revelation from God] did not come from gazing in a crystal ball. And ever since then, I have told you of every major thing in the world.
Did Dr. Kinley prophesy JFKs election?
I told you about John F. Kennedy getting in the presidential category again. You were sitting there ... you that are sitting there under the sound of my voice know whether I did or not, and know whether I am lying, because you have heard it. I told you that John F. Kennedy would be nominated, elected and assassinated. Now, he was not elected by the right count of votes, its a trick to it, I knew that. But I knew that they would smooth that one over and Nixon would not, could not, contest it. But you know, most of you that sit under the sound of my voice know whether its so or not, whether he was assassinated or not, you know. &
Did Dr. Kinley prophesy earthquakes?
I told you about the Alaskan earthquake. I told you on the tenth of April, about that submarine being on the bottom of the sea. I told you before I left here to go to Ohio ... the eleventh of May. I told you there would be earthquakes, everywhere. Didnt I tell you that?
Well, I DONT WANT YOU TO THINK, I dont want you to get the idea, that this is me and I think that Im so great or anything of the kind. I dont want you to get that idea because that is not it. I just want to say and tell you that the things that are written in this Book, THEY ARE TRUE! YES! There are interpolations and mistranslations there mistakes and errors, in other words, for those of you who cant understand those words. But generally and overall, this Book is right, which we call the Bible. And dont forget I told you that God is an up-to-date God. He is Ever-Present.
