PLIM GOLDFINGER & SILVERFINGER
FINANCIAL INVESTMENT MEETING
New Location and Pre-registration Procedures
PLIM Goldfinger & Silverfinger members,
We are making many changes beginning Sunday, July 9, 2006, 5-9 p.m. since we have reached the room capacity of 53 people at the Hyde Park Coop.
1) New Location - Our Sunday, July 9 Goldfinger & Silverfinger meeting, 5-9 p.m. will be held in the Ramada Inn, 4900 South Lake Shore Drive, Lake View Room, 2nd Floor. The room will be set up for 100 and will seat everyone comfortably. Coffee and tea will be served. Free parking is available.
2) Increase in donations - The donations for the Goldfinger & Silverfinger meeting will increase 40% from $25 to $35; $50 for couples. Seniors will continue to donate $25; $40 for couples. We have not requested an increase in donations in three years since the PLIM Gold meeting's inception, October 2003. Now the donations from everyone who attends the meetings will cover their seat in the room as well as distributed materials. Seating is limited. Costs from room rentals, supplies, etc., are increasing, which means we can't continue to operate as we have in the past.
3) New Pre-registration Procedures for August 2006 Meeting - To decrease the processing time for the signin/receipt submissions at the door and increase the time you have to hear the lecture, the signin/receipt forms (click here) must be submitted with your donation at least a week before each Goldfinger & Silverfinger meeting. As the number of people attending our meetings has increased, its taking 30-45 minutes to process the signin/receipts form at the door, which takes away from the lecture time. As gold reaches $1000, our attendance will soar again.
When you enter the conference room of the Ramada Inn, we will have a check list of all pre-paid members and distribute your packets to you as you enter the room. Only new people will be admitted at the door for a $50 donation.
You can either mail your form and donation to the address below by the Friday before the Goldfinger & Silverfinger meeting or bring them to our 11 a.m.-2 p.m. morning class at the Hyde Park Co-op in July, which will be moving August 20 through October 15 or 22, 2006, (location TBA). The Multipurpose Room will not be available in the Co-op during that time due to their annual book sale.
